Job description, responsibilities and duties

Our klient is operating and enhancing a harmonized Data Science workbench- and collaboration platform across all entities of the group on the Databricks cloud environment. We ingest and manage a big datasets from different source systems with different technologies. To support them in this challenging activity we are looking for an experienced Databricks Data Engineer.

In this position you will:

  • Work on the technical integration of Databricks to the environment based technical requirements and design and architecture patterns
  • Evaluate and propose the technical feasible solutions for extending data analytics within Databricks on MS Azure cloud environment
  • Manage all technical operation activities
  • Solve raised problems within the team and the vendors
  • Stabilize, automatize and improve the data ingestion as well as the data management activities

Prerequisites and personality skills

  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure components
  • Strong skills in data modeling, with the ability to design and implement efficient, scalable data structures and schemas
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and/or Scala, and SQL, showcasing strong capabilities in leveraging these languages for complex data engineering tasks
  • Expertise in implementing end-to-end monitoring and alerting solutions focused on delivering services of high quality and speed
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data ingestion procedures
  • Strong analytical skills, with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English, enabling effective interactions with analysts, business clients, and colleagues
  • Not mandatory but nice to have: Experience with DataOps or MLOps implementations, demonstrating a forward-thinking approach to data management and machine learning operations as well as experience with Databricks platform and HashiCorp Terraform
